Reflection: a Rose For Emily

In William Faulkners short story A live on for Emily, William utilizes the experience of Emily Grierson, the last child in her family which used to be a nobel family to show us the pathetic lives of those last descendants in aristocrat families during the reconstruction after the Civil War. In the story, William uses different visual images of the signboard and the people to portray the changes of the consider of reference and the stubbornness of Emily. In the second paragraph, William describes the appearance of the home of Emilys family in the senescent time. It was a big, squarish variety sign of the zodiac that had once been white, decorated with cupolas and spires and scrolled balconies. Obviously, it was a beautiful, nobel fireside. However, with the time flies, the house is acquiring older and when garages and cotton gins [ deport] encroached, the Emilys house is the totally nonpareil leftfield. The house symbolize the condition and characters of Emilys family. Since the house has the zeal of the seventies, its easy to see that Emilys family was in truth inscrutable during the seventies. However, with the development of the society, the industrial time begins. All of the different families left the street except Emilys. Instead of moving to a crude place, Emilys family choose to stay in the old only if magnificent house. Her family are stubborn.

They are not unforced to stimulate the vernal idea and new life. Instead, they keep place on their old style, properties and ideas.
